Honda’s AquaTrax line of personal watercraft arrives in Knysna!

Weighing in at only 46 kgs/ 101 pounds, Honda Marine's BF15 and BF20 weigh less than some 9.9 horsepower motors on the market, making them the perfect portable power choices for inflatable yacht tenders, small fishing boats, pontoons, or as backup power on larger fishing or sail boats. Available Power Thrust design models offer enhanced manoeuvrability and performance in either fresh or salt water.

In addition to their light weight, the BF15 and BF20 are easy to maintain and transport. The engines' long-stroke design and 350cc (21.5 cu. in.) displacement make them top performers by providing optimum torque throughout the rpm range. Additionally, an integrated carrying handle, easy one-hand starting and programmed ignition are offered as standard features.

Innovative Features
Honda's BF15 and BF20 share a number of features and benefits that make them the most technologically-advanced outboards in their class. A microprocessor-controlled PGM Ignition accurately controls ignition timing during start-up and provides optimum performance across the entire rpm range, while the Auto Start Enrichment feature automatically adjusts the air/fuel mixture for quick, easy starting. The BF15 and BF20 also are the only engines in their class to feature an integrated Engine Alert System that reduces rpm to protect the engine from damage due to low oil, over-revving, and overheating.

A foldaway carrying handle is positioned at the engines' exact top/bottom balance point for enhanced portability and easy carrying, while a freshwater flushport removes debris and saltwater from the engine. Additionally, Honda's patented 4-Front Corrosion Protection System offers outstanding protection against corrosion caused by harsh marine environments.

For increased control and reduced steering effort, the engines are designed with longer tiller handles made of a lightweight composite designed for increased durability and weight reduction. Another unique design - EZ Steer Friction Control - allows the operator to precisely adjust steering tension for improved comfort and control.

The Shallow Water Drive available on manual trim models greatly reduces the risk of engine damage when operating in shallow depths, while Positive Lubrication promotes long-term durability of critical engine components.

A Closer Look at Power Thrust
The BF20 and BF15 are offered with Honda's exclusive Power Thrust Design for enhanced performance and manoeuverability. A low 2.33:1 gear ratio coupled with a 4-blade Power Thrust propeller produces more thrust in forward and reverse, while an additional exhaust outlet above the anti-ventilation plate allows the propeller to run in undisturbed water - ultimately resulting in greater thrust.
